On-site Training Programs
Welcome to Read MTI's ON-SITE trainings page. We strive to provide quality on-site instructional courses and
specialized workshops to meet the needs of early literacy educators, reading coaches,
speech pathologists and special educators. By laying the foundation for reading success,
our programs assist educators in helping and preventing struggling early readers.
Through these programs, teachers have an invaluable Response to Intervention (RtI) tool to identify children at risk in
literacy via their Tier 1, 2 and 3 interventions.Reading Foundations® This two day workshop trains teachers how to help students develop phonemic awareness for reading and spelling. Phonemic awareness, the ability to discriminate, sequence, and manipulate sounds within words, underlies decoding and spelling. Using this multi-sensory approach, participants will discover how to activate their students' oral-motor feedback in order to identify phonemes. Concepts and techniques will be gained through demonstration, discussion, supervised role-playing and practice, and in-class assignments. Read More Early Childhood Reading Foundations Similar to the traditional Reading Foundations® workshop, Early Childhood Reading Foundations has been refined in order to teach basic phonemic awareness concepts at a developmentally appropriate level for preschool-age children. In this one day workshop, educators will discover how to identify and sequence phonemes, track and construct chains of simple syllables and learn games and activities for classroom use. Response to Intervention (RtI) Information Session Educators across the United States recognize the importance of providing instruction to all students based on their specific learning modalities and needs. Response to Intervention (RtI) is a tool that not only meets the needs of severely struggling learners (Tier III), but also allows Tier I and Tier II students to receive explicit instruction to be able to advance their skills within a small group environment. This half day training will provide all educators with background information related to RtI, preparatory skills for a smooth implementation process within your own school, awareness of what you are already doing that is part of Three Tier or RtI protocol, and application practice and review.
